Leona was born May 10, 1913, in Paynesville, Minnesota,
daughter of Frank Jahn and Frances Hartmann. After graduation
from Paynesville High School she worked at the Paynesville hotel for
three years, followed by 20 years each at the North American Creamery
and Paynesville Produce.
Leona was not afflicted by the wanderlust which characterizes
so many of the Jahn family; she lived her entire life in Paynesville and died there
on September 26, 2008, at the age of 95.
