Bert Joseph Jahn

Bert Jahn
Bert was born July 11, 1916, in Cold Spring, Minnesota, son of Martin Jahn and Rose Mary Miller. After graduation from the University of Minnesota, he moved to the state of Washington, where he was a trout hatcheryman for the State Game Department and a soil scientist and wildlife biologist for the U.S. Soil Conservation Service. During World War II he served 14 months in the Army.

Sylvia (Wendel) Jahn On December 31, 1940, in Spokane, Washington, he married Sylvia Doris Wendel, a teacher, daughter of Charles Everett Wendel and Susanna Marie Isdahl. Sylvia was born March 18, 1917 in Billings, Montana. She died May 26, 1980, and is buried in Ephrata, Washington.

Bert & Thelma (Emerson) Jahn
On July 3, 1983, Bert married Thelma Lee Emerson in Wenatchee, Washington. Thelma was born September 13, 1924 to Harvey Lee and Ethel Gall. Bert died May 4, 2005, in Wenatchee and is buried in Ephrata. Thelma died October 9, 2005.

Bert and Sylvia had seven children:

2. Michael Cahn, born January 21, 1967, in Watertown, Massachusetts. Married Monique Suzanne Burton, May 28, 2011, in Cancun, Mexico.

3. Robin Marie Gray, born February 10, 1971, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Married January 1995 to Christopher Lee Harlan, son of Charles Lee Harlan and Susan Elaine Anderson. Chris was born May 31, 1966, in Anchorage, Alaska.
  
  1) Grant Kainoa Harlan, born April 11, 2001, in Hawaii.
On November 20, 1978, in Elko, Nevada, Bobbie was married to William Brian "Joe" Bloss, born September 6, 1945, in Summit Union, New Jersey, adopted son of William Cornelius Bloss and Margaret Bryant. Joe died in July 2004.

2. William Keo Bloss, born June 15, 1981 in Hilo, Hawaii. Married May 17, 2010, in Hawaii to Kilinoe Kaikaina, born June 10, 1986.

Patricia Carol Jahn, born December 28, 1943, in Spokane, Washington. Married August 16, 1969, in Chicago, Illinois, to Michael Bruce Donnelly, born in Chicago on April 23, 1941, son of Thomas Donald Donnelly and Alice Karen Langlo.
1. Thomas James Donnelly, born June 5, 1970, in Detroit, Michigan. Married June 8, 1996, in Muskego, Wisconsin, to Tamara Lee Neubert, born April 17, 1972, in Greenfield, Wisconsin, to Dennis Lee Neubert and Myrna Louise Kraft.

Peggy Marie Jahn, born March 20, 1950, in Colfax, Washington. Married in St. Paul, Minnesota on June 24, 1972, to Craig Clifford Cournoyer, born in St. Paul on May 8, 1951, son of Clifford Lawrence Cournoyer and Jenny Gordon. In 1979 Peggy and Craig adopted two brothers from an orphanage in Costa Rica. They later adopted a Samoan boy and a Vietnamese girl.
